NOW Foods Mediterranean Red Clay Powder is a single-ingredient facial mask powder in a 14 oz jar. It contains montmorillonite, a naturally occurring mineral silicate, and is supplied dry for mixing before application.

Preparing a clay mask

The manufacturer recommends combining one tablespoon of powder with an equal amount of water, hydrosol or aloe gel to make a smooth paste. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eyes. Leave for 10–20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow the label’s once- or twice-weekly directions.

Ingredient and handling

This vegan powder contains montmorillonite rather than a premixed cream. Natural color variation can occur. Keep the opened jar in a cool, dry place.
